Celebrating the region's water abundance, the Burdekin Water Festival is one of Queensland's longest‑running community festivals. Running over three months, the program includes the popular Ambassador Program and a series of associated events.

The festival culminates with the Grand Parade and Mardi Gras along Queen Street in Ayr from 4:30pm. Once the parade concludes, the celebrations continue into the night with fun rides, delicious food, vibrant music, live entertainment, and market stalls for all ages to enjoy.

Everyone is welcome to join this vibrant community celebration, including the official crowning of the Junior Ambassador winner and runner‑up.
