Drive South on the Bruce Highway to the charming township of Sarina and make your first stop at the fantastic Field of Dreams Parklands. The Field of Dreams Parklands is situated in front of Wilmar Plane Creek Sugar Mill and is also home to an array of interesting and historical attractions.

Sarina Sugar Shed to Sarina Art and Craft Centre

Begin your exploration by booking a tour through the Sarina Sugar Shed, Australia's only miniature sugar mill and distillery, to discover the journey of sugar, from paddock to plate.

Enjoy a coffee and sweet treat from the cafe before discovering the other attractions within the parklands, including the Sarina District Historical Centre, Sarina Arts and Craft Centre and Sarina Art Gallery.

River Street to Mackay CBD (Old Town Hall)

Continue your travels on River Street, where local art can be discovered in a grass-rooots art gallery, located in an old wharf warehouse, constructed in 1887. The gift shop features a range of artistic treasures, the perfect take-home memory from your in Mackay.

At the northern end of River Street, a large public artwork can be viewed beside Mackay's largest shopping centre. Enjoy an al fresco lunch or simply sit and gaze at the large sculptures which dominate the riverside landscape.

Mackay Central Business District (Old Town Hall) to Mackay

Make your way back into the Central Business District and visit the old Town Hall on Sydney Street. The building, originally constructed in 1912, is culturally significant as it provides a history of Mackay in the early twentieth Century. It now features an innovative artist's studio upstairs and hosts a regular schedule of events including artistic and heritage exhibitions, art classes and workshops.
