St Lawrence Historic Court House

Get in touch

Dating back to 1879, the St Lawrence Court House is one of the town's most historically significant buildings. Carefully restored and repainted in its original colour scheme, it stands proudly as a reminder of St Lawrence's role as a regional centre during the late 19th century. It's now part of the heritage-listed Police Station at Macartney Street.

The Court House served multiple roles, including hosting Anglican services before the church's 1898 construction. This timber building with verandas reflects colonial architecture and the town's early administrative hub during its port heyday.

While the site isn't open to the public, visitors can admire the courthouse exterior and imagine the stories that unfolded within its walls during the town's early years.
