The award-winning Historic Leyburn Sprints will return to the streets of Leyburn on the Southern Downs for the 30th running . More than 250 historic, classic and performance cars will race the clock on the closed streets on Leyburn, vying for trophies in up to 60 classes, as well as outright placings. Get amongst the drivers and their cars, ranging from the 1920s through to modern classics. The 2026 Sprints will feature a special 30th Anniversary dinner on Thursday 13 August, open to everyone - look out for further details.

The Historic Leyburn Sprints celebrates the running of the Australian Grand Prix, held at Leyburn on a disused wartime airstrip in 1949. Come for the racing, stay for the fun and the sightseeing in this historic town and surroundings. Camping is available in the recreational reserve, a short walk from the track, and at other sites near the town.

Celebrity drivers, country markets, live music, a colourful Motorsport Alley display, Show n Shine and the Vintage Caravan Village and many other attractions add to the grassroots entertainment at this unique event in a fantastic setting - this event just keeps getting better and better!
