Hebel Hotel and General Store

The Hebel Hotel and General Store has been owned since 2020 by a local farming family committed to the town and its people. The Hebel Hotel offers varied accommodations, including cabins, guestrooms, and single bunkhouse rooms, all equipped with air conditioning and TVs. There is also a coin-operated laundry available. Free camping can be found behind the hotel, making it a convenient and welcoming stop for travellers exploring this historic region.

The hotel’s weatherboard-clad walls and corrugated iron roof have stood the test of time, making it a landmark for over a century. Outside, old posts that once served as horse hitching rails hint at its historic role in the droving days. Inside, the pub is filled with memorabilia, from wool bale bags to station brands, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. A distinctive feature of the Hebel Hotel is the unique artwork by Lightening Ridge artist John Murray, whose contributions have enhanced the venue’s character and appeal.
