Get in touch

Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area is a 186-hectare reserve in the hinterland suburb of Mount Cotton (Jungalpin/Tungipin) on Redlands Coast, which forms the upper catchment of Eprapah Creek.

The reserve provides top-tier mountain bike riding trails, including adaptive mountain biking (aMTP) that attracts avid mountain bikers. The reserve also offers the perfect setting for other outdoor activities including bushwalking, horse riding, trail running, bird and butterfly watching.

From Billau Road, visitors can take a trek out to the lookout platform at the summit of Mount Cotton and enjoy breathtaking 180-degree views of south-east Queensland or relish in the spectacular biodiversity of eucalypt forest and smaller pockets of rainforest.

Entry to Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area is open daily, and lies to the east of West Mount Cotton Road, Sheldon. The main trailhead entry is situated at the West Mount Cotton and Schoek Road intersection.

Visit the Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre and grab a Cycling and Walking Guide, which includes the Eastern Escarpment walking trails.
