The Viking Cup 10s is a vibrant, multi-day rugby festival set in the heart of the Whitsundays, bringing together teams, families and supporters from across Queensland and interstate for a unique sporting holiday experience.

Held at the Whitsunday Sportspark, the event combines fast-paced 10-a-side rugby with a relaxed coastal atmosphere, creating the perfect blend of competition and connection. In 2025, 73% of participating teams travelled from outside the region, staying an average of three nights and turning the carnival into a true destination event.

The 2026 edition expands to three days and introduces a Masters (35+) exhibition match, broadening the festival's appeal and strengthening its multi-generational spirit. In 2027, a dedicated Masters division will further enhance the program.

Beyond the field, visiting teams and families take the opportunity to explore the Whitsundays — from island adventures and reef experiences to dining, markets and local attractions — making the Viking Cup more than a tournament, but a weekend getaway.

Proudly supported by Bendigo Bank and Under Armour, the Viking Cup 10s continues to grow as one of regional Queensland's premier rugby festivals, delivering memorable experiences while contributing strongly to the local visitor economy.
