With private guides, Scuba IQ ensures personalised attention, allowing you to progress at your own pace. If you're nervous, our team will work with you to feel completely comfortable in the water. This program is also a great way to see if scuba diving is right for you before committing to an Open Water Diver course.

Scuba IQ offers privately guided dive trips, providing certified divers with an exceptional and personalised way to experience the Great Barrier Reef. With no minimum group size, trips are tailored for one to four divers, ensuring individual attention and avoiding the crowds.

Led by instructors with over 20 years of experience, every dive is customised to suit your skills and interests. Explore vibrant coral gardens, encounter diverse marine life, and discover hidden reef treasures. Dive sites, including Agincourt, Opal, St Crispins, and Tongue reef systems, are carefully selected to showcase the reef's best ecosystems in optimal conditions.

Each trip includes three dives, a full dive briefing, top-quality equipment, dive computers, and additional safety gear. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with morning and afternoon tea, a fresh buffet lunch, and post-dive debriefs using fish and creature ID books to log your discoveries.

Scuba IQ also offers fully personalised experiences, including single or multi-day liveaboard charters, for those seeking even more adventure. With extensive knowledge of the reef, its ecosystem, and the nearby Daintree Rainforest, Scuba IQ ensures an immersive and enriching dive experience.

Scuba IQ offers a personalised and comprehensive Open Water Diver course, teaching both PADI and SDI certifications. Designed for beginners, this three-day program provides a safe and supportive environment to master the skills needed to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres, anywhere in the world.

The course begins with eLearning, allowing students to complete dive theory at their own pace. Once in Port Douglas, participants spend the first day practicing essential skills in the pool. The next two days are spent on the Great Barrier Reef, completing the required four open water dives for certification. To enhance the experience, we include two additional dives on the final day, allowing extra time to explore the reef under expert guidance.

No prior experience is needed, as our experienced instructors, each with over 20 years of teaching expertise, guide students through dive planning, equipment use, problem management, and underwater communication. With a focus on private groups, Scuba IQ ensures personalised attention and a pace that matches each student’s comfort level.

If you are already an Open Water Diver then the PADI Advanced Open Water course will take your diving ability to the next level. Even if your certification is from an organisation other than PADI, you can still take this course.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver provides you with the opportunity to experience different types of scuba diving while expanding your knowledge and understanding of core principles while having fun doing it!

You will plan and complete five dives, two of which are mandatory - Deep and Navigation. The other three dives, you can choose from the list below. There is also theory training as part of the course.

If you are passionate about the environment and ecosystems then the AWARE fish identification or Naturalist dives would be great options. For anyone interested in science or more technical aspects of scuba diving, Enriched Air (Nitrox), Self-Reliant or Sidemount dives are for you.

Finally, while not compulsory, the Peak Performance Buoyancy dive is highly recommended and will help you to achieve Zen-like buoyancy control, making your dives effortless, relaxed and more enjoyable.
