Join wheelwright Kerry Riehl for this immersive five-day wheelwrighting workshop, where you'll build a complete twelve-spoke wagon wheel using traditional tools and techniques.

Working from a hand-crafted kit, you'll also make one of each essential component — a spoke, felloe, and hub — gaining a true appreciation for this historic trade.

By the end of the workshop, you'll take home your own expertly assembled wheel.

Meet your tutor

Wheelwright Kerry Riehl is a joiner by trade. He has been making and repairing wooden wheels for over 30 years, starting with his grandparents' old carts and drays. Kerry is passionate about passing on the skills of wheelwrighting and is a regular demonstrator at Queensland Museum Cobb+Co.

All our Hands-on Workshops have a limited number of participants to ensure you receive all the assistance and direction you require.

Spectators are welcome at all workshops.
