If there are two things we know about Queenslanders, it’s that we know good coffee, and with that, we love a beautiful venue to drink it in. Whether your go-to is a fierce flat white, a classic cappuccino, or an icy-cool iced latte, Brisbane certainly has your back.

We could write for pages about the numerous cute coffee spots that you should add to your brunch list, but we’ve stripped it right back to pull together our official ‘Top 5’ list of Brisbane’s most Instagrammable cafes loved by the LGBTQIA+ community.

Industry Beans, Newstead

While this isn’t a competition, we have included Newstead's Industry Beans first for a very good reason. Industry Beans is a coffee roastery, cafe, coffee education hub and events destination all under the one roof, and just quietly, it’s seriously beautiful. Its architecturally designed interior is almost completely white, with the exception of its brown timber tables and matte-black coffee machines.

Honestly, it’s just stunning, and their menu is too (even if it does change every three months, to keep Brisbane’s best seasonal produce on your plate). And, once you’ve had a literal gutful of coffee, don’t forget to grab your coffee beans, equipment essentials and even a few gifts on the way out.

Kiki Café, South Bank

Kiki is certainly one of the best cafés in Brisbane, though we won’t be surprised if you’re yet to stumble across this one.

Kiki is the little sister of Southside (another amazing Brisbane venue) tucked under a train line in Fish Lane Town Square – just a few minutes’ walk from the city in South Bank. This café is a millennial’s dream. They have plants galore and intimate booths with stone tables surrounding their kiosk, which is unlike anything that you’ve seen before.

And, of course, they’ve got all of the brekky staples and sensational sweet treats, along with a selection of Bahn Mi and rice paper rolls.

BillyKart, West End

Before we start talking about how amazing West End's BillyKart is, let us run through some of their menu items: house made crumpets with honeycomb butter, cheese souffle, buttermilk & ricotta pancakes, and BillyKart chilli crab. Plus, they offer dining in the dark events where they blindfold you and serve you a selection of their tastiest menu items. Enough said.

But seriously, this café is not only Instagrammable, but super tasty. Their interior is a little ‘moodier’ than the last two cafes, with its iconic downlighting and eclectic arrangement of interior design. Plus, believe us - the neon sign out the front is definitely something you’re going to want to chuck on your Insta’ story.

Joedy's Café

Joedy’s Café actually has two incredibly instagrammable locations (Fortitude Valley and New Farm), but we’re going to stick with the original location – New Farm.

This place, like a lot of others, chooses to only showcase the freshest, seasonal ingredients in their food. That’s because Joedy herself is passionate about the importance of local industry, in particular Queensland farmers and local artisan producers.

Joedy & Co. offers an all-day menu with items like avocado toast, fish tacos and eggs benedict, and their selection of drinks is second to none. Combine this with their stunning pastel fit-out and a location on the fringe of New Farm Park, and you’ve got yourself a winner.

Andonis Café and Bar, Yeerongpilly

Last but definitely not least is Andonis Café and Bar, another brekky spot in Brisbane with two relaxing locations. However, the one we’re going to focus on is their café & bar conveniently located on the border of Yeerongpilly and Moorooka. If you are venturing a bit further south of Brisbane City, this is the place to be.

Andonis boasts exceptional breakfast food, mouth-watering desserts, tantalising drink options, specialty coffee and a delectably positive atmosphere (and they’re quite right to do so, because this venue is absolutely unmissable). With an exterior as beautiful as its interior, and with what feels like unlimited seating, you’ll be sure to be happy with wherever you choose to sit!

There you have it, an entire working week’s worth of brekky spots for you to get through. Up next? All the best places to brunch.
