Kirra Beach offers a relaxed coastal vibe with a strong surfing culture and sweeping views of the coastline up to Surfers Paradise. Often referred to as Australia's 'spiritual home of surfing', Kirra is one of the Gold Coast's most iconic surfing spots. Part of the World Surf Reserve and it's known for producing a long, hollow, barrelling wave in big swells, with the rock groyne providing the perfect spot for spectators to watch from.
With a long, flat stretch of sand and turquoise waters, it's a gorgeous spot for a swim. With rocks and tidal pools to explore at low tide, it's a favourite for families too. The Gold Coast Oceanway wraps around the headland - a beautiful coastal walking or cycling experience. Take a moment to stop at the Kirra Shelter Shed - a heritage wooden pavilion with a viewing platform that frames the stunning coastline perfectly.
Stop for morning tea at one of the coastal cafes or head to one of the numerous surf clubs in this area for family-friendly dining with ocean views.
