Located in the former home and office of mining magnate John Moffat, Loudoun House is a marvellous collection of artifacts and information on Irvinebank, its mining and domestic history.

Built in 1884 it remains the oldest corrugated iron and timber two storey building in Queensland.

Irvinebank was the centre of Moffat's mining empire and one of the richest Tin mining districts in Australia.

The museum houses a fabulous collection of records used by historians and genealogy researchers.

Run by enthusiastic volunteers who are happy to share information with visitors.

Dog and family friendly. The nearby free campground with a hot shower (donation) enables visitors to spend a little longer and see all the sites and historic buildings in Irvinebank.

Irvinebank has a volunteer-run shop that caters for necessities, as well as an op shop section. Saturday night social events at the hall with a lic bar also run by volunteers.

The Irvinebank School of Arts and Progress Assoc can also cater for visiting groups, and our magnificent School of Arts Hall is available for hire.

Pop into Loudoun House museum and pick up a bird list before heading to the beautiful dam in the middle of town for a picnic and birdwatching.
