The Gateway Visitor Information Centre is located behind the Home Hill Comfort Stop in the heritage-listed Queensland Rail building. Talk to a local expert, obtain brochures and maps or experience the Yongala Dive Virtual Reality Experience. The Visitor Information Centre operates 7 days a week as a Driver Reviver site serving free Bushell's coffee or tea and Arnott's biscuits, allowing drivers the chance to stop and revive so they can reach their destination safely.
The Home Hill Comfort Stop facilities include toilets, hot showers, barbecue facilities, meal preparation benches, sinks, picnic tables and a disabled bathroom. Parking for self-contained vehicles is available on Railway Avenue (the street of the Gateway Visitor Information Centre) and visitors are permitted to a free stay for a maximum of 48 hours.
Inside, you'll find an extensive collection of photography and historical items related to the construction of the Silver Link Bridge from 1947 to 1957.
