Ubobo is a postcard-perfect rural township located 75 kilometres west of Gladstone and one of four communities that make up the Boyne Valley, alongside Nagoorin, Many Peaks and Builyan. It is a peaceful stop for travellers and a charming place to spend a night or two.

The town is known for its strong community spirit, famously rallying together to save its local Telstra phone box. It still stands today and remains in working order. Travellers can also reach Ubobo via a shorter route from Miriam Vale when heading west toward Monto.

Despite its small size, Ubobo offers plenty for visitors. There are free and paid camping areas, hotel and dorm-style accommodation, excellent fishing at Boynedale, a general store, post office, church, sporting grounds and a calendar of family-friendly events.
