Capricorn Caves is the premier nature based attraction in Central Queensland. The Cathedral Cave Tour is the most popular with its wheelchair access and amazing natural acoustics within the Cathedral Chamber. It's a popular venue for weddings and Underground Opera held in the Cave twice a year. In December, the natural phenomenon of Summer Solstice Light can be seen on the 11am tour.
For the adventurous, there are wild caving explorations or abseiling. The adrenaline charged caving tours involves underground exploration with the light of a cave helmet and are available on request. These amazing tropical limestone caves offer a beauty different to that of deep underground caves. Daily tours are conducted by experienced guides through large well lit caverns with beautiful decorations, rare ferns and massive tree roots and occasionally small bats. The huge domed Cathedral Cave is renowned for its acoustics and is a popular wedding venue. A fun option at the end of the tour is a walk through the pioneer passage on to a swinging suspended bridge in the rainforest.
