Quandamooka Coast brings you the opportunity to experience the land and waters traditionally known as Quandamooka Country, with cultural awareness.
Quandamooka Country is the land to the East of Brisbane, south of the Brisbane River and North of the Logan River. It includes Moreton Bay and the islands.
Quandamooka Coast brings you Whale Watching Tours beginning 2018, Minjerribah Camping and Accommodation, Quandamooka Festival and Quandamooka Tours.
Many of their experiences offered are on Minjerribah, also known as North Stradbroke Island.
At Meeanjin (Brisbane City), they head down Maiwar (Brisbane River) where guides share dreaming stories of the land and waters while they travel. Enjoy an intimate weaving circle, learning local Aboriginal language, didgeridoo playing and a display of ancient Indigenous artefacts on board. From Maiwar, traditional Yuggera Country, they cruise into Quandamooka waters and continue across the bay to Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
On Minjerribah, they will be welcomed by the Quandamooka people and experience a traditional smoking ceremony. You will then travel by coach to Mooloomba (Point Lookout). In a stunning location we will enjoy a lunch of fresh local seafood followed by optional activities including boomerang throwing, a guided cliff top Gorge Walk and wildlife sighting. In the afternoon the Yulu-Burri-Ba Dance Group will dance traditional songs by Bummiera, a fresh water tea-tree lake. On the return cruise to the city, local Aboriginal artwork and gifts will be available for purchase.
