Redland Museum is located in Redland City, 30 kilometres from Brisbane. It conveys the living heart of their community and holds artefacts and tells stories of social history of people from different cultural backgrounds.
Their diverse collection of 18000 objects reflects nineteenth and early twentieth century ‘room’ exhibits - a school classroom, vintage shop, parlour, bedroom, nursery, kitchen, laundry and their chapel reflects people’s spiritual needs.
There are rare objects in the music, marine, military and textile displays.
View their variety of vehicles, unique steam engine, farm equipment, machinery and transport area. Outside the main building is their blacksmith shed.
Children love their Australian Toy Hall of Fame featuring toys of yesteryear and love to ‘drive’ the rail-motor.
Everyone is welcome. Schools find the museum the perfect location for students to discover local history. Bookings for groups are essential. Morning or afternoon tea or lunch can be provided. Air-conditioned rooms are for hire and they cater for corporate, community and private functions.
Keep an eye on their website calendar or Facebook page for events and exhibitions.
