Lovingly restored heritage train the Mary Valley Rattler has launched its new all-access carriage, providing special facilities for wheelchair users and other assisted-access passengers.

Making its way through the charming Mary Valley townships on the Sunshine Coast, a ride aboard the Rattler is your opportunity to rediscover the magic of a bygone era.

Paralympic-bound champions Hannah Dodd and Steven Elliot supported the launch, helping to highlight the importance of accessibility in tourist attractions and community assets.

“Making the Mary Valley Rattler accessible to a wider cross-section of the community and visitors has always been a priority of the team,” said General manager of the Mary Valley Rattler, Micheal Green.

“Having Steven and Hannah – who must be amongst the most dedicated and inspirational athletes in Australia – ride the Rattler for the launch of the all-access carriage makes the inauguration even more rewarding.”

The introduction of this new carriage is an improvement for accessibility and an inspirational occasion to celebrate local stars who have achieved so much.
