Straddling the New England Highway, Thulimbah is a delicious stop in the heart of the Granite Belt, where a cluster of providores tempt travellers with specialty foods, local produce, and satisfying country meals. This is true apple country, the only place in Queensland with the ideal climate and growing conditions for premium apple orchards. And of course, being the Granite Belt, a winery or two is never far away.
A must visit is Suttons Farm, famous for its irresistible apple pies, each packed with twenty four apples. Just across the road, Vincenzo's at the Big Apple serves up a tempting selection of light meals, deli favourites, and locally grown produce. A short drive from the highway, Stanthorpe Cheese offers the chance to sample handcrafted cheeses made on site from Jersey cow milk, with the friendly Jersey girls often grazing in the paddock nearby.
