Food Trail Tours

Multiple Locations

Food Trail Tours have been offering food, wine and rainforest experiences, in Tropical North Queensland since 2002. They provide a day of discovery into Wet Tropics World Heritage areas, while exploring what regional food and wine producers have to offer. Tours operate throughout the year, using air-conditioned vehicle with a maximum of 20 people.

Travel into the Rainforest, and off the beaten track, onto small family farms, where you can expect to hear stories behind the foods, and savour their flavours.

Tours include lunch, farm tours, tastings, fees, morning and afternoon tea, plus, accommodation transfers from Cairns and the Northern Beaches (excludes Port Douglas).

Food, Wine and Rainforest Tour

Food Trail Tours' "Food, Wine and Rainforest Tour" travels to the Atherton Tablelands to explore World Heritage Wet Tropics Rainforest while discovering what regional food and wine producers have to offer.

This relaxing "Paddock to Plate" experience, travels off the beaten path, onto farms and behind the scenes to hear the stories behind the foods, and savour their flavours.

There is plenty of time to excite your taste buds, with local tropical fruit wines, cheeses, chocolate, coffee, and macadamias.

The sights include Wet Tropical Rainforest, the Curtain Fig Tree, Lake Barrine, historic townships, red soil plains, and rolling hills, as well as dry tropical World Heritage areas not visited by other tours.

Experienced and knowledgeable driver/guides provide a comprehensive tour narration throughout the day. You will be entertained as you learn about the amazing Atherton Tablelands, its history, points of interest and the other foods it produces.

Everything is included; lunch, on farm tours, tastings and accommodation transfers.

Jourama Falls, Paluma Range National Park

Torrens Creek

Torrens Creek, Flinders Area
The Torrens Creek, after which this Outback town is named, rises in the Great Dividing range and runs southward to the Thomson River system to eventually run into Lake Eyre. William Landsborough discovered it in 1862 while searching for Burke and Wills.

The Binna Burra section of the Lamington National Park covers more than 160 kilometres of protected walking trails, conserving Antarctic Beech, wildflowers and rare wildlife such as the spotted-tailed quoll and Albert's lyrebird.

Bladensburg National Park is a large park protecting Mitchell grass downs and channel country. It is home to a wonderful variety of wildlife, including tiny mammals called dunnarts. Flat-topped mesas and sandstone ranges form a pleasing backdrop to the park's grassland plains and river flats.
