After just two hours sailing time from Airlie Beach, the duo anchor at Sawmill Bay, Cid Harbour. If you’re feeling adventurous there is a 1.1 km bush walk from Sawmill Beach to \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/accommodation/dugong-beach-whitsunday-island\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"Dugong Beach\"\u003EDugong Beach\u003C/a\u003E. This is a great place to spot, you guessed it, dugongs as well as turtles as they feed on the seagrass flats nearby.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ERiley and Elayna then sail towards Hook Island, anchoring at \u003Ca href=\"https://www.queensland.com/attraction/nara-inlet\"\u003ENara Inlet\u003C/a\u003E. The best part? They get paid to do it!\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis dynamic duo took a vacation from their vacation and flew to Queensland, where they spent three weeks sailing around \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/explore-queensland/the-whitsundays\"\u003EThe Whitsundays\u003C/a\u003E on a \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/hire/gobareboating\" title=\"Go Bareboating\"\u003EGo Bareboating\u003C/a\u003E yacht.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFollow their journey as they set sail around the Whitsundays. If this doesn’t give you a serious case of wanderlust, I don’t know what will.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Ch2\u003EAirlie Beach to Hook Island\u003C/h2\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPicking up the new yacht from \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/attraction/abell-point-marina\"\u003EAbell Point Marina\u003C/a\u003E, Riley and his dad test the waters (literally) as they hoist the sails for Stonehaven Anchorage on \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/destination%20information/hook-island\"\u003EHook Island\u003C/a\u003E. Dropping anchor at this scenic spot means watching the sun set over Whitsunday Passage and it’s one of the best anchorages for dolphin spotting at dusk.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ciframe width=\"1048\" height=\"590\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/t7zjHekV-MQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\"\u003E \u003C/iframe\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Ch2\u003EAirlie Beach to Whitsunday Island\u003C/h2\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERiley picks up Elayna from \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/destination%20information/airlie-beach\"\u003EAirlie Beach\u003C/a\u003E and Sailing La Vagabonde set sail to explore the 74 islands of The Whitsundays for three weeks. After just two hours sailing time from Airlie Beach, the duo anchor at Sawmill Bay, Cid Harbour. If you’re feeling adventurous there is a 1.1 km bush walk from Sawmill Beach to \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/accommodation/dugong-beach-whitsunday-island\" title=\"Dugong Beach\"\u003EDugong Beach\u003C/a\u003E. This is a great place to spot, you guessed it, dugongs as well as turtles as they feed on the seagrass flats nearby.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERiley and Elayna then sail towards Hook Island, anchoring at \u003Ca href=\"https://www.queensland.com/attraction/nara-inlet\"\u003ENara Inlet\u003C/a\u003E. Apart from the buzzing village atmosphere on the island, it’s also a great spot for provisioning with an abundance of shops to re-stock your supplies.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ciframe title=\"Hamilton Island, what a Hoot! We don’t mean to boast, but Riley describes their sail into \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/attraction/whitehaven-beach\"\u003EWhitehaven Beach\u003C/a\u003E as one of the top three sails he has done in his life. Aww shucks.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESailing La Vagabonde journey on to Tongue Bay where they explore Tongue Point towards the \u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://www.queensland.com/journey/hill-inlet-lookout\" title=\"Hill Inlet lookout\"\u003EHill Inlet lookout\u003C/a\u003E.
