Turtle Discovery Tour

The Turtle Discovery Tour leaves Agnes Water through the amazing Deepwater National Park, on-board a comfortable four wheel drive bus giving you a great elevated view, wind past an array of ancient trees, ferns and palm groves.

A stop off to take in the breathe taking views along some of the most stunning and secluded beaches in Queensland. You'll then travel through the scenic Deepwater and Baffle Creek regions enroute to Mon Repos for an up close turtle encounter never to be forgotten.

Mon Repos is the largest turtle rookery on the entire east coast mainland of Australia, there a world class conservation program takes place every night from November to March providing you with a ranger guided experience like no other where you can witness first hand the life cycle of these amazing creatures.

Deepwater Dayz

Enjoy the scenic ride as we travel through Deepwater National Park home to some of the most secluded stunning beaches and amazing wildlife varieties on offer. Sit back in air-conditioned comfort as we wind along soft sandy tracks past an array of native plants including ancient grass trees, palm groves, ferns and more.

Stopping at significant turtle hatching beaches allowing you to see how the long undisturbed stretches of coastline provide the perfect environment for nesting turtles including the Endangered Loggerhead Turtles that nest here in significant numbers each year.

Leave the first footprints on stunning secluded beaches, explore the amazing bush and go for a swim in paradise. Friendly local guides show you some of the most Amazing Rock Pools and natural saltwater pools on offer.

Immerse yourself in nature as we launch our kayaks to paddle on Deepwater creek, recognised as being one of the last undisturbed creek systems in Australia. Paddle past ancient paperbark forests and giant reed beds, spot the shy kingfishers as they dart along the creek bank ducking, weaving and following us as we go.

The Burnett River flows out to sea at Burnett Heads, and just upstream is the Port of Bundaberg with its wharves and imposing sugar terminal. Here, the broad reaches of the Burnett are home to the Bundaberg Sailing Club, and as expected, there are boat ramps and car and trailer parking at the river mouth.

Burnett Heads is nestled along the Coral Coast and is most readily identifiable by the two historic lighthouses that dot its coastline. Oaks Beach is a 200 metre long stretch of beach safe for surfing and swimming with many choosing to fish off the rocks and groyne at The Oaks which are the best places to reach deep water.
