Cairns, Cairns Area
Free Entry
Southern Small Detached Reef, 80 kilometres North of Lockhart River in Far North Queensland, is a remote but stunning reef. Sitting so far off the coast, the walls of the reef drop to over 100 metres, with the deep waters inviting lots of larger marine life such as turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, pelagic fish and occasional manta rays.

Palm Beach Reef Dive Site

Gold Coast, Gold Coast Area
Free Entry
Palm Beach Reef, located close to its namesake beach on the Gold Coast, is a large reef of varying depths, perfect for any diver. With sections of the area as shallow as five metres, and other sections dropping to depths of 24 metres, there are lots of different environments here to explore.

Tangalooma Wrecks Dive Site

Moreton Island, Brisbane Area

Nine Mile Reef Dive Site

Coolangatta, Gold Coast Area
Free Entry
Nine Mile Reef, off Tweed Heads, has a reputation among locals as being a “sharky” spot. All year long, a good population of wobbegongs call the reef home, but are joined by leopard sharks in summer and grey nurse sharks in winter.

Around The Bend Dive Site

A bend in the reef at Osprey Reef gave this site its name, and it is well worth going Around The Bend at this exciting dive site. Often washed by currents, so generally done as a drift dive, Around The Bend is a plateau at the top of the reef wall with gutters, ridges and bommies to explore in depths to 30 metres.

The Pines Dive Site

Moreton Island, Brisbane Area
Free Entry
One of the more unusual dive sites off Brisbane, The Pines is a coffee rock reef, or in other words a dirt boulder reef. Now a dirt boulder reef might not sound very exciting but cut with ledges and caves these dirt boulders are home to a surprising amount of marine life.

Jew Shoal Dive Site

Noosa Heads, Noosa Area
Free Entry
Jew Shoal is one of Noosa’s top attractions, situated in the beautiful Laguna Bay. It is a large reef system of ridges, canyons, bommies, and an impressive solitary 11 metre pinnacle. The Caves dive site has rugged rocky outcrops and swimthroughs, with gutters covered in colourful hard and soft corals, and reef fish including angelfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish, globefish, rabbitfish, soapfish, morwong, sweetlip and bream.
