The Aussie Aito is an exciting one day event and consists of long distance ocean paddling in a single rudderless outrigger canoe, otherwise known as a V1. This type of paddling requires skill, determination and an intimate knowledge of the ocean. Aussie Aito is an international V1 event and links in with the esteemed Te Aito in Tahiti and the Aotearoa Aito in New Zealand. The Aussie Aito had its beginnings in 2012 and is growing rapidly as Australian paddlers are consistently battling it out with international paddlers across the Pacific.
