Capricorn Caves

The Caves, Livingstone Area

Capricorn Caves is the premier nature based attraction in Central Queensland. Here you can explore spectacular caves set in a limestone ridge and even spot little insectivorous bats in certain seasons. These magnificent caves are located north of Rockhampton and are winners of many major tourism and environment awards, they are also eco-tourism accredited.

The Cathedral Cave Tour is the most popular with its wheelchair access and amazing natural acoustics within the Cathedral Chamber. For the adventurous, there are wild caving explorations or abseiling. The adrenaline charged caving tours involves underground exploration with the light of a cave helmet and are available on request. Try our new Fossil tour where you travel back in time to discover the fossils of ancient creatures and see life size reconstructions of giant prehistoric beasts .

After your tour, enjoy a bite to eat from the Kiosk or cool off with a swim in the pool. A visitor centre provides fascinating information about the local geology, bats and community history.
