The Winter Sun Motel is conveniently positioned in North Rockhampton on the Bruce Highway (immediately adjacent to Bunnings). It is close to CQ University and also the Crematorium.

The Winter Sun's rooms are clean and quiet. They feature comfortable queen sized beds and either a couch or single bed. To make you feel even more at home, all motel rooms come with the following as standard: free cable television, free Wi-Fi internet access (limits apply), air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, microwave, toaster, large fridge. Guests are welcome to use the laundry and barbecue area.

The Winter Sun is within walking distance to the Glenmore Shopping Centres. Enjoy a lovely meal at the Tavern, just a stone's throw from the Motel and very popular with guests. Alternatively, McDonalds, Subway, Red Rooster (and many more delicious options) are an easy walk from the motel.

Each room is allocated an undercover park. Side street access is available (along Weaver Street). Off street parking is also available for light trucks if required.

Eromanga

Mungallala

Mungallala, said to mean 'food and water' is the site of a cypress sawmill, located about half way between Mitchell and Morven where the Warrego Highway crosses the Mungallala Creek. Mungallala originated as a railway town and is a wonderful place to stop for lunch and experience the workings of an outback town.

En route to Hebel, stop for a coffee, a shop and a look around Dirranbandi, the town that marks the end of the South West rail line. As you enter town you'll pass by the levee bank, which is famous for having saved the town from flooding on more than one occasion.

Hebel

In the little town of Hebel it feels like time has stood still, leaving behind tales of the Ned Kelly gang, Cobb & Co and dance halls. Hebel Hotel is a gem of a country pub. Colourful artwork by John Murray adorns the front of the pub, with the interior decked out in recycled furniture made from reclaimed bush finds.
