Bribie Island offers beautiful coastal scenery, low-key bush camping spots, popular boating and fishing areas in Pumicestone Passage, excellent birdwatching opportunities and spring wildflowers.

Bribie Island Recreation Area offers a variety of coastal camping experiences. Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Ocean Beach Camping Area

Featuring bush camping behind the foredunes on the eastern beach, Ocean Beach camping area is ideal for tent camping and camper trailers. Located in the Bribie Island Recreation Area Camping Ground, with access only by Four Wheel Drive, there are 63 campsites with facilities including micro flush toilets, screened cold showers and water taps.

Poverty Creek Camping Area

With open grassy sites and shady trees Poverty Creek camping area is situated on the western side of Bribie Island. It can be reached by Four Wheel Drive and boat and there are 14 numbered sites and one large group or trailer area. The once functioning cattle property offers views to the Glass House Mountains and Donnybrook as well as basic camping facilities including picnic tables and fire rings.
