Boreen Point Campground is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Cootharaba, which has been a popular location for recreational activities such as camping, fishing, kayaking and sailing for more than 70 years.

The lake has a long sandy foreshore for the length of the park. Explore the Noosa Trail Network, visit the remains of the historical Mill Point Settlement or follow the Heritage Walk at Tewantin.

Bring your camera an capture some awesome sunsets or sunrises, not to mention the resident wildlife. Boreen Point Campground is a quiet and popular location to use as your base when you return from the Coasts Popular Tourist Attractions.

Unpowered Sites

Unpowered sites are located throughout Open Space areas within the Campground and you are welcome to choose your site on arrival. Some sites have concrete pads, however there is plenty of space for that real campsite feel. Sites are located within easy walking distance to the amenities and outdoor camp kitchen. You are even able to choose whether you want lakefront or a shaded area away from the lake Bookings are not site specific.

Powered Sites

The eight powered sites at this campground all have concrete slabs and are close to the amenity building.

Porcupine Gorge National Park

Porcupine Gorge is an impressive canyon that has been carved into the landscape by the eroding action of Porcupine Creek, revealing strata of sedimentary rocks spanning hundreds of millions of years.

Historic Coolabah Tree

The Historic Coolabah Tree is situated past the causeway on the right as you head to the Hughenden Showgrounds. It is of immense historical importance as it is linked to two relief expeditions searching for the Burke and Wills Expedition.

Stamford

Stamford is situated 61 kilometres south of Hughenden on the Kennedy Development Road to Winton, dubbed the 'Dinosaur Way'. Named after the adjoining pastoral land 'Stamford Ham'. Stamford was originally part of the 'Katandra Station'.
