Beechmont

Beechmont, Gold Coast Area
Life's a beach, (or should that be beech?), for the laid-back residents in this quaint country village which sits smugly between the Lamington Plateau and Tamborine Mountain. First settlers flocked to the area in the 1800s and used the white beech trees, once prolific here, for timber.

Dave's Creek Circuit

Tamborine Mountain

Tamborine Mountain, Scenic Rim Area
Some say this is the green behind the gold, which makes the Gold Coast so seductive, and it's easy to see why Tamborine Mountain is in tune with tourists. Let's start with the rainforest, in the third oldest National Park in the world, which celebrates the remnants of the former Mount Warning volcano.

Springbrook

Springbrook, Gold Coast Area
If the Gold Coast hinterland was home to a supermodel it would most certainly be Springbrook with its Antarctic beech trees, native wildlife and luscious lookouts. After all, where else can you find a place named The Best of All Lookouts?

Curtis Falls, Joalah Section

North Tamborine

North Tamborine, Scenic Rim Area
Not to be confused with Tamborine Mountain upon which it is perched, North Tamborine is a suburb in its own right and plays to its own tune. It's easy to see why the rolling green hills, just 30 minutes from the Gold Coast, attracted early settlers who grew maize and grazed dairy cattle here.
