For a great day out fishing in the Gulf of Carpentaria! Kerry D is a locally owned and operated family run fishing charter business in Karumba. They depart daily and offer half and full day all inclusive fishing trips suitable for all ages.

The boats are easy to board, fish all round, comfortable to travel in, they have full shade canopy, toilet on board and are very stable vessels that are specifically designed for this area. Your skipper, local owner Darryl, will take you out to get hooked on the many species that inhabit the gulf waters, from the mighty fighting Mackerel and King Salmon to the great Southern Gulf Barra. All fishing gear - quality bait, shimano bait runner reels, abu rods and an assortment of tackle is included in your half or full day fishing expedition.

A full day hunting out Southern Gulf Barramundi on the right tides - no better way to spend the day.

Julia Creek

Julia Creek, McKinlay Area

Every year, thousands of visitors are drawn to Lawn Hill National Park to experience the true Outback. Encompassing the spectacular Lawn Hill Gorge with its imposing sandstone cliffs, and cool pristine waterways, the area is most famous for the World Heritage-listed Riversleigh fossil fields.

Kajabbi

Three Rivers, Cloncurry Area
Kajabbi is a tiny, sleepy settlement in north west Queensland. It is located 118 kilometres north east of Mount Isa and 100 kilometres north west of Cloncurry. Whilst only a small settlement, Kajabbi stands in an area that is steeped in history.

Dajarra

Dajarra, Cloncurry Area
Believe it or not Dajarra was once the largest trucking depot in the world. Dajarra is now a quiet, laid back town in the far north of Outback Queensland. The older people of the area who remember Dajarra's heyday say that the area trucked more cattle than Texas in the United States of America.

Lake Moondarra

Lake Moondarra is situated just 17 kilometres north of the city centre of Mount Isa. It provides water to the city and the adjacent Mount Isa Mines (MIM) mining lease. Access to the lake is by a sealed road and offers a picturesque shoreline drive.

Cloncurry

Cloncurry, Cloncurry Area
'The Curry', as Cloncurry is affectionately known by locals, is most famous for being the birthplace of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). Conceived and launched by the Reverend John Flynn in the 1920s, this flying medical service is just as integral to the people of the outback today as it ever was.

McKinlay

Mckinlay, McKinlay Area
Located 104 kilometres south east of Cloncurry, McKinlay was named after the McKinlay River which was discovered and named by the explorer John McKinlay. McKinlay had arrived in New South Wales in 1836 and by 1861 had become such an adept bushman that he was chosen to lead the South Australian Burke Relief Expedition to search for the missing Burke and Wills.

The Australian Fossil Mammal Sites at Riversleigh and Naracoorte were inscribed in the World Heritage List in 1994 for their outstanding representation of the evolution of Australian mammals and the quality of their fossils, which are preserved in limestone.
