The day trip/tour includes return scenic flight, use of day guest facilities, snorkel equipment, combined glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour, a delicious buffet lunch in the restaurant and a guided afternoon activity. The combined glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour is the best way to explore this wonderful underwater world of incredible marine life including coral gardens, fish, clams, sea stars, turtles, reef sharks, dolphins and manta rays.

The Great Barrier Reef Day Trip departs daily from Hervey Bay/Fraser Coast and Bundaberg. Great Barrier Reef Day Trip ex Bundaberg

The Great Barrier Reef Day Trip to Lady Elliot Island allows guests to view one of the most pristine sections of Australia's iconic Great Barrier Reef from the air as well as from above and below the water, all in one day.

Check in at the QantasLink counter at Bundaberg Airport. Enjoy a gorgeous scenic flight to Lady Elliot Island, a true coral cay island located on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, north of Fraser Island. Guests will be greeted upon arrival and given a brief orientation tour before exploring the Island at their leisure. Guests will be fitted out with snorkel equipment before joining a glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour to explore the reef where they will come face to face with a large variety of coral and brilliantly coloured fish, and they may even encounter turtles, reef sharks, dolphins and their resident manta rays.

A buffet lunch is served in the Beachfront Dining Room and guests can participate in one of the Island's guided activities after lunch or spend the rest of the afternoon snorkelling or relaxing. Guests have full use of the day guest facilities and lockers are available for hire.

Check in to the Lady Elliot Island counter at Hervey Bay/Fraser Coast Airport. Great Barrier Reef Day Tour ex Brisbane (Redcliffe)

The all-inclusive Day Tour commences with a pickup from inner city hotels at approx. 6.30am and transfer to Redcliffe Aerodrome to board the scenic flight to Lady Elliot Island. Lady Elliot is located at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef and is regarded as one of the best snorkelling and diving locations on the reef, famous for its unspoilt coral reef and amazing array of marine life!

Upon arrival on the Island, our guide will take guests on a brief orientation tour and escort them to the Day Guest facilities to collect snorkel equipment. Guests then join a glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour to explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef including coral gardens, tropical fish, turtles, reef sharks, dolphins and manta rays.

A hot & cold buffet lunch is served in the Beachfront Dining Room and includes a choice of wine, beer and soft drink. After lunch guests can join our guide for fish feeding before departing the Island at 2.30pm on the scenic flight back to Redcliffe. The tour concludes at approximately 4.15pm with a transfer back to the hotel. A light breakfast (snack) and afternoon tea (bottled water & biscuit) are served inflight.

The all-inclusive Great Barrier Reef Day Tour to Lady Elliot Island allows guests to view one of the most pristine sections of Australia's iconic Great Barrier Reef from the air as well as from above and below the water, all in one day! Lady Elliot is a coral cay located on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef and is renowned for its unspoilt coral reef and amazing array of marine life.

Guests are transferred from their hotel to the Seair Pacific/Lady Elliot Island Terminal to board the scenic flight to Lady Elliot. Upon arrival on the Island, guests will be given a brief orientation tour before being shown to the day guest facilities to collect snorkel equipment (reef walking shoes, towels and sunscreen are also provided). Guests then join a glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour to explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef including coral gardens, tropical fish, turtles, reef sharks, dolphins and manta rays.

Buffet lunch is served in the Beachfront Dining Room and includes prawns, wine, beer and soft drink. After lunch guests can join our guide for fish feeding before departing the Island on the scenic flight back to the Gold Coast.

China Wall Dive Site

Located on the exposed eastern side of Brisbane’s Moreton Island, China Wall is an unusual dive site for the area as the reef is dominated by kelp rather than coral. Waving beds of brown kelp are more common in southern Australia and these ones look very out of place with tropical fish swimming around them.

The Pines Dive Site

One of the more unusual dive sites off Brisbane, The Pines is a coffee rock reef, or in other words a dirt boulder reef. Now a dirt boulder reef might not sound very exciting but cut with ledges and caves these dirt boulders are home to a surprising amount of marine life.

Smith Rock Dive Site

Smith Rock is one of the most notorious reefs off Brisbane, as this jagged rocky outcrop has claimed three ships over the years. Located off the eastern side of Moreton Island, Smith Rock is also a wonderful dive site, but is often overlooked as it is a tricky site to anchor on.

Curtin Artificial Reef Dive Site

Curtin Artificial Reef is a popular dive site in Moreton Bay and is easily accessible from Brisbane. Since 1968, the Underwater Research Group of Queensland has been sinking large vessels, cars, tires and pontoons at this site to create a haven for the local tropical fish, gropers, trevally, abundant wobbegongs, rays and other schooling fish.
