Wet Tropics Great Walk

Prepare yourself for a really memorable two day walking experience through these ancient palm-filled gullies, rainforests and open forests. The Buujan Quiinbiira (Boo-jun quin bee-rr-ar) walk starts at Wallaman Falls in the Girringun National Park and winds its way over the Herbert River to the Yamanie pick-up point.

Bowenia Rainforest Circuit

Byfield, Livingstone Area
One of the prettiest walking trails in the Byfield State Forest - the Bowenia Rainforest Circuit offers you the chance to stroll amongst ancient cycads and tall turpentine trees. You'll see glimpses of crystal clear creeks and be able to stop for a break at one of several recreation areas along the track.

Gudda Gumoo (Rainbow Waters)

Gudda Gumoo (Rainbow Waters) tracks are located in the Blackdown Tableland National Park. Rising abruptly above the surrounding dry plains, Blackdown Tableland protects spectacular sandstone scenery at the north-eastern edge of the Central Queensland sandstone belt.

Morans Falls track, Lamington National Park

Subtropical rainforest of booyongs, figs and brush box flank the track for the 140 metre stroll to the lookout over Morans Falls. Plummeting 80 metres to the valley floor, Morans Falls fluctuates between a thunderous roar after rain, to a gentle trickle in the drier months.

Purling Brook Falls circuit, Springbrook National Park

Spectacular waterfalls and cool ancient forests await you in the beautiful World Heritage-listed Gondwana rainforest of Springbrook National Park. High on the Springbrook Plateau, walk through fragrant forests of New England ash, ancient lepidozamias, colourful hakeas and dazzling wildflowers to this stunning waterfall on Purling Brook.

Araucaria Falls track, Main Range National Park

Discover the spectacular beauty of the Araucaria Falls on this short track flanked by lush subtropical rainforest. Wind gracefully along a gully lined with brush box and gently climb to this small but spectacular waterfall.

Natural Bridge Circuit, Springbrook National Park

The Springbrook National Park comprises 15,310 acres situated on the McPherson Range near Springbrook and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. Allow 40 minutes for the one and a half kilometre Natural Bridge Circuit, through lush ancient Gondwana rainforest lined in buttress roots, strangler figs, epiphytic ferns and berry covered lily pillies (in Spring).
