リバースレー哺乳類化石地域

州のアウトバックエリアにあるリバースレー哺乳類化石地域はオーストラリアの哺乳類の進化の軌跡を石灰岩に埋もれた化石達が物語ります。この世界遺産地区はローン・ヒル国立公園の南東に位置し2500万年前に生息していた哺乳類の化石を良質な状態で保管されている希少な場所なのです。

化石についてもっと詳しく学ぶ:

  • 恐竜たちが実際に一生を終えた場所にそのまま横たわっているリバースレーのDサイト。この希少な歴史遺産が一般公開されているのは世界でもここリバースレーだけなんです。

  • マウント・アイザにあるリバースレー・化石センターへ訪れて、 生物地理学者の手によって化石の断片が哺乳類のかつての姿に近づいて行く様子を見学しましょう。
  • 哺乳類化石が発掘されている場所は見事な自然が残るローン・ヒル国立公園にあります。こちらも見応えがありますよ。
