Drive South on the Bruce Highway to the charming township of Sarina and make your first stop at the fantastic Field of Dreams. The Field of Dreams Parkland is situated in front of Wilmar Plane Creek Sugar Mill and is also home to an array of interesting and historical attractions.

Located in the old Sarina Court House, the Sarina Tourist Art and Craft Centre is home to an array of local hand-crafted treasures waiting to be discovered! This building is also home to Sarina's Visitor Information Centre, so feel free to enquire about the best local spots to check out.

When in exhibition, the Sarina Art Gallery hosts a range of intricate and unique artwork, contributed by talented locals.

Mackay Central Business District (Old Town Hall) to Mackay

China Wall Dive Site

Located on the exposed eastern side of Brisbane’s Moreton Island, China Wall is an unusual dive site for the area as the reef is dominated by kelp rather than coral. Waving beds of brown kelp are more common in southern Australia and these ones look very out of place with tropical fish swimming around them.

Dugong Sanctuary - Clairview

In 1997, the Great Barrier Reef Ministerial Council established Clairview (a small beach town approximately 1.5 hours south of Mackay) as a dugong sanctuary. Often dugongs can be spotted when they surface to breathe from the shore, or in the water, when in a kayak, boat or other recreational vessel - so keep an eye out for these majestic creatures!

Lake Tinaroo is a very popular spot for swimmers, skiers, walkers, fishing (permit required), red clawing, ideal for picnics with barbecues available and has five camping areas located around the back of the dam in the Danbulla State Forest.
