In 2004 Gunsynd was the only animal named in the Queensland Icon's list. Gunsynd won the hearts of the people, and in the 1972-73 horse racing season he was named Australia's Champion Racehorse. The Gunsynd Museum houses many of Gunsynd's' accolades donated by his owners. It's a great memorial to this truly fascinating race horse.
