21 – 22 July 2018 -
The inaugural Mackay Chamber Music Festival will bring to the Mackay Region high quality chamber music performances and workshops.
The festival features artists who are members of, or regularly appear with ensembles such as the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Lyrebird Trio, as well as all of the major Australian symphony orchestras. All of the festival artists also regularly play at numerous festivals nationally and internationally.
Over the weekend, the festival will feature a series of four concerts, held at the beautiful heritage listed Masonic Temple right in the City Heart of Mackay.
As well as breathtaking chamber music performances, the festival also gives local students, teachers and ensembles the opportunity to be involved in educational activities, such as masterclasses and professional development events, lead by the festival artists.
Through bringing chamber music out of the concert hall and into more intimate performance spaces, the Mackay Chamber Music Festival aims to foster and develop a feeling of community, friendship and fun, and showcase the vibrant arts scene in the stunning Mackay region.
