Island Vibe Festival

Held annually on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) over the last weekend of October, Island Vibe Festival is a multi-faceted celebration of music, dance, art and Island culture that includes art exhibitions, creative and educative workshops, film screenings, talks, cabaret, circus, eco-food and craft markets. Four stages are host to over 80 mighty reggae, roots, soul and electronic acts - including Indigenous and Pacific Islander dance and cultural groups.

Their festival has a strong eco and cultural focus, and is unparalleled by any Australian festival in its majestic location and experience. Island Vibe is held at the stunning beachside location of Home Beach, Point Lookout. The second largest sand island in the world, Minjerribah, is renowned world-wide for its beaches, beauty and chilled atmosphere.

Island Vibe Festival spans four glorious spring days at the end of the whale migration season and is a family friendly event, free for kids under 13.

Whale Bommie is a giant coral head located off the southern side of Milln Reef. This popular Cairns dive site has something for everyone. While the main bommie varies in depth from 5 metres to 22 metres, more experienced divers can also explore a scattering of smaller bommies in depths to 26 metres.

Located north of Cairns, Steve’s Bommie is an incredible dive site located at Ribbon Reef No.3. The bommie rises from 30 metres deep up to just five metres below the water, and attracts schools of bigeye trevally, barracuda, yellow-lined snapper, Moses perch, yellow-lined goatfish and many others.
