BIGSOUND is where the world discovers Australian music. For four nights every September, a vibrant collection of musicians, music industry professionals and music lovers from across the globe assemble in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley to witness the best new Australian music.

BIGSOUND's seventeenth incarnation in 2018 promises to deliver the same atmosphere of innovation and togetherness that has come to define its place in the international music industry calendar. Come and be thrilled by 150 of Australia's best new artists, across 18 stages in Fortitude Valley's special entertainment precinct.

Dalrymple National Park

Ancient lava flows, fossilised limestone and the Burdekin River, the largest river in Queensland, are features of this park in the Charters Towers area. Mount Keelbottom rises 130 metres above the surrounding plain and part of the old Dalrymple township site can be found in the park.

Rugged mountains rise abruptly from the wetlands, saltpans and mangroves of the coastal plain, south of Townsville, in the Mount Eliot section of Bowling Green Bay National Park. Mount Elliot reaches a height of 1,210 metres, jutting out of the surrounding coastal plain and dominating the landscape, and Alligator Creek descends in a series of cascades, deep pools and waterfalls.

Thuringowa extends over an area of 4000 square kilometres and today is a thriving area offering art exhibitions, theatres and performance, swimming lagoons, sporting venues, dining and shopping and plenty of options for family entertainment and fun!

Embrace magnificent views of vast blue skies and boundless green scenery from Pipers Lookout. Travel up Hervey Range Road from Thuringowa Central, past the suburbs of Rangewood and Rupertswood to find Piper's Lookout near the top of the Range.
