Top Secret WWII Tour

Charleville, Murweh Area

It's like finding an archaeological dig before it's uncovered. Charleville Airport became part of the United States of America in 1942 when the site was handed over to the United States Army Air Force as a top secret site during World War II.

The area was a village in its own right with up to 3500 (the population of Charleville today) United States Servicemen serving in the area.

Many of the sites have been uncovered and you can join in for a guided tour of the base. You will need your own car (high clearance vehicle preferably) for this experience and a fee will apply. Bookings are essential and can be made at the the Charleville Cosmos Centre, the Charleville Visitor Information Centre, or by going online and doing it in the comfort of your own home by going to their website.

The tour departs the Cosmos Centre. You would need to confirm the day and time as the weather changes so does the tour time.

Groups can book by calling them.
