Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area camping

Rainbow Beach, Gympie Area

Indicative Rate * AU$6.35 to AU$25.40

Inskip Peninsula is a narrow, sandy finger of land built up by wind and waves. It forms a natural breakwater at the entrance to Tin Can Inlet and Great Sandy Strait. Inskip is a gateway to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, where you can enjoy relaxed coastal camping.

Beach she oaks, cypress pine and other coastal trees and shrubs shade Inskip's five very popular camping areas that are ringed by open ocean beaches and sheltered estuary shores. All are within 15 minutes drive of Rainbow Beach.

Camping areas at Inskip are popular all year, but are often full at peak periods—school holidays, long weekends, Christmas, New Year and Easter. Remember, only campers with pre-purchased permits are allowed to set up camp.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site. Book your camp site and purchase your camping permit in advance. Bookings can be made on-line, over the counter or by phone.
