Vehicle access permits must be purchased for every vehicle before entering Fraser Island. Camping permits for QPWS camping areas are required and must be purchased before setting up camp (fees apply).
Set in a rainforest, Central Station in the Fraser Island National Park provides access to a variety of walks and information displays. Excellent facilities are suitable for both small and large groups with a nearby barbecue area perfect for cooking up a camp side feast. Located inland from Eurong, this camp site is accessible for high clearance Four Wheel Drives, off-road camper trailers, off-road trailers and tents.
Located on Fraser Island this is a large, formal fenced camping area. Dundubara offers a variety of camp sites set behind the dunes is coastal forest. Barbecues, fire rings and great facilities, including hot showers, make for an excellent base to explore the best Fraser Island National Park has to offer.
Located on the North-East Coast of Fraser Island, near a rocky headland is the Waddy Point camping area. It offers grass and sand surface hosts 30 tent and 6 camper trailer sites. The coastal woodland provides one of Fraser Island National Parks few fire ring approved areas with modern facilities, picnic tables and a barbecue area.
Sheltered from south-easterly winds Waddy Point Beachfront offers a large grass and sand camp site suitable for access via Four Wheel Drive or walk-ins. Facing north on the beachfront under allocasuarina tress the relatively calm water offers a reasonable launch point for trailer boats. Facilities for the modern camper can be found nearby in the Waddy Point (top) camping area and an approved fire ring is available to keep warm on cold winter nights.
On the western side of Fraser Island National Park Wathumba camping area is set behind the foredunes near the mangroves. There are 20 sites in an open grassy area with picnic tables. Remember to bring the insect repellent and watch out for uninvited guests! There are three trailer sites and tent camping available for park and walk-in travellers.
