Purling Brook Falls circuit, Springbrook National Park

The Jumrum Creek walk is within the Jumrum Creek Conservation Park, which protects a small pocket of rainforest in the middle of the Kuranda township. The park encompasses rainforest along a section of Jumrum Creek before it flows into the nearby Barron River.

Caves circuit, Lamington National Park

Caves circuit, in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park, winds up through open forest and rainforest to emerge on the road near the Binna Burra Mountain Lodge road entrance. Pick up a copy of the self-guiding brochure produced by the Lamington Natural History Association for this circuit, and also the Lamington National Park Discovery Guide from the park's information centre.

Kumbartcho Sanctuary Trails

The Kumbartcho Sanctuary is six hectares of natural habitat which provides an important corridor for local fauna and flora. There are a number of local walking trails around the dam at environment centre in addition to an opportunity to walk along the South Pine River to Yurarba.

Banksia Track And The Boardwalk

Woodgate is known for the long, white stretches of sandy beaches that overlook the magnificent Southern Great Barrier Reef, but you can also strap on your walking boots and experience some of Australia's distinctive flora and fauna as you walk the Banksia track.

Mount Hobwee Circuit, Lamington National Park

This full day hike, the Mount Hobwee Circuit, is in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. Lamington National Park boasts extensive walking tracks along the McPherson Range, which allow visitors to explore the area's forests, creeks and waterfalls.

White Rock Ridge Hike

The White Rock Ridge Hike trail forms part of the White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate managed by Ipswich City Council, and is accessed from the Paperbark Flats Picnic Area off School Road in White Rock, just south-west of Ipswich.

Beautiful Betsy Walk

A plane crash which lay hidden in the Australian bush wasn't discovered for nearly 50 years is the short backstory to the Beautiful Betsy walk in Kroombit Tops National Park. It sounds like something out of a film but it's true - Beautiful Betsy is the remains of a World War II Liberator Bomber aircraft which lay hidden and lost in the Kroombit Tops underbrush until a ranger saw a glint of silver after a backburn and discovered it in 1994.
