They meet you at the island ferry and transport you over to share their small, friendly, ecologically gentle island way of life, where their power comes from wind generators and solar panels. Whales migrate past the island in Winter (July-September) and turtles nest in Summer (November-February). The accommodation is for adults only.

Svendsens Beach can accommodate a maximum of 10 adults in the two luxury tent-bungalows, the newly appointed studio and the rental house. The tents and studio form one small cluster, where up to three couples can share, whereas the house is completely separate and self-contained.

Our Rooms

The rental house is in a superb location overlooking two bays. It has a timber deck on two sides, and nothing between the house and sea except trees and lawn (no roads). The house has an open plan layout - and has a lounge room and two separate bedrooms, each with a queen and single bed. Each room sleeps two adults. The kitchen is fully equipped and the house is totally self contained.

The tents are on a large timber deck and covered with an awning over the tent and deck. The tent bungalows have permanent, solid furniture, and the beds are made up with linen. They also have bedside tables and chairs. Tents have reading lights and fans in summer months. The double has one double bed, and the twin has two single beds.

This is a beautiful timber building with polished wooden floor. It is self contained and very cosy. It has traditional Queensland shutters, and is very close to the beach.
