Situated on the southern end of Curtis Island, just 12 kilometres from mainland Gladstone, the Southend Camping Grounds offers 20 unpowered sites with ocean views.

Access to Curtis Island is by private vessel or via Curtis Ferry Services which operates six days per week and can transport passengers and vehicles.

The camping grounds have limited facilities, so visitors are recommended to bring enough provisions for their trip, including gas barbecues (wood fires are not permitted). Composting toilets are located at the grounds, however you may bring a chemical toilet for longer visits.

A short distance from the camp grounds is Capricorn Lodge, where visitors can purchase a variety of items from the store, including drinks, ice, newspapers, toiletries and non perishable food items.

Dogs are allowed within the grounds, however they must be kept on a leash at all times.

Permits are required to camp at the Southend Camping Grounds and must be displayed on your camping structure at all times. Bookings and permits are available through the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre on Bryan Jordan Drive at the Gladstone Marina.
