Cape York Camping Punsand Bay is the ultimate base for any Cape York adventurer looking to explore and discover the Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait Islands.

Situated five kilometres south-west from "The Tip" on the Cape York Peninsula, it is the most northern address in Australia. The beachfront camping ground, accommodation, restaurant and bar overlook the picturesque waters of the Arafura Sea, Torres Strait Islands and northwards to "The Tip" of Australia.

Cape York Camping has a range of accommodation and camping ideal for couples, families and groups to relax, unwind and recharge.

Kick back and relax in the The Corrugation Bar after a long day of corrugations. The Corrugation Bar has a selection of beers, wines, spirits and non alcoholic beverages available. A great place to meet other travellers and swap stories.

A wood-fired pizza menu is available. Pizzas, bases and sauces are prepared in house daily using fresh locally sourced ingredients. Takeaway pizzas are available to enjoy back at your camp site.

Grab your book, towel and cool off with a swim in the swimming pool. Over looking the ocean and situated close to the bar, restaurant, beach, accommodation and camping.

Our Rooms

Beachfront powered and unpowered camping with large, shady sites available. Facilities include modern amenity blocks with hot showers and toilets, fire places, laundry facilities and basic communal shelters.

Beachfront Cabins are a basic beachfront cabin with shared amenities. Twin share, linen provided with a small private veranda over looking the Arafura Sea, Torres Strait Islands and north to "The Tip". Close to the swimming pool, restaurant and bar.

Beachfront Cabin with ensuite include twin share, linen provided, hot shower and toilet with a private veranda overlooking the Arafura Sea, Torres Strait Islands and north to "The Tip" of Australia.

Beachfront Safari Tent with ensuite include twin share, linen provided, hot shower and toilet, private veranda.

Air conditioned cabin with ensuite include twin and double room configurations, ensuite and private veranda. Rooms are situated close to the swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Short walk to the beach.

Mary River
