Queensland's zoos, sanctuaries and parks are walking on the wild side of Halloween with special entertainment, tricks and treats.

Round up the family, find your best costumes, and sink your teeth into all the festive fun.

Australia Zoo

Scaredy-cats aren't a species you'll find around here, but the iconic Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast will be featuring a live spider display this Halloween weekend, where you can come face to face with eerie arachnids and even see a live feeding.

Carve your own jack-o-lantern, pick up some trick or treating candy, and kids - wear your best costume for a door prize. Hint: you can even get your own Croc Hunter costume at the gift shop or online.

Aussie World

The Sunshine Coast’s Aussie World and Banana Bender Pub will be kicking off a series of themed after-dark events with the new-look Ride the Night starting this Halloween weekend.

The spookiest night of the year will come alive at Aussie World from 3pm-10pm, with trick or treating and prizes for best costumes, United Pro Wrestling in ‘The Shed’, outdoor cinema, and a DJ pumping music through the park.

The park’s Mayhem Maze will return for Halloween and all other Ride the Night events for anyone brave enough to venture into the walk-through scare attraction.

Aussie World will continue to open its gates for Ride the Night events every Friday from December 4 and throughout the school holidays.

Although Lone Pine's "Boo-Hind the Scenes Howl-o-Ween" experience is sold out, there's still plenty of spooky fun to be had on Halloween weekend.  The “Spooky Scavenger Hunt” is a small additional cost ($10) which includes a Trick or Treat bag, a Scavenger Hunt clue card and answer sheet, Lone Pine pen, a “Spook-tacular” sticker sheet, and free soft-serve.

You can also join in the fun with complimentary trick or treating by resident mascot, Claude the Koala.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary's 3-night "FestEvil at the Fangtuary" may have sold out, but never fear: there's nothing stopping you celebrating Halloween by day at the park with a visit to the Tasmanian devils, Nocturnal Zone, creepy crawly terrariums, or the Big Fang Therory live snake show. On Friday evening, join the Sanctuary Markets for their special Halloween edition.
