Luxury Brisbane city accommodation

Calile Hotel

A person enjoying the view at The Calile Hotel

Calile Hotel, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane

Chic? Always. Overhyped? Never. The Calile is Australia’s most photogenic hotel for a reason.

Why we love it: With curved lines, breezy balconies and a pastel-hued pool deck, this James St gem brings resort vibes to the heart of the city. You could spend your entire stay hopping between cabanas, spa treatments and long lunches at Hellenika. We wouldn’t blame you.

Good to know: Design lovers, foodies and fashionistas all flock here, but the energy is relaxed, not exclusive. The Lobby Bar is the unofficial HQ for people-watching.

W Hotel

Couple looking out of their room window at the W Brisbane

W Brisbane, Brisbane City

International hotel heartthrob W Brisbane is a technicolour playground for lovers of design, music and poolside cocktails.

Why we love it: Everything here is turned up. Neon signs, psychedelic carpets, and a rooftop WET Deck where the drinks flow and the DJs know exactly what you need. Even the bathtubs have a view.

Good to know: Located riverside on North Quay, you’re a short walk to Queen Street Mall and Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The AWAY Spa and 24-hour gym mean you can pamper and power-lift in the same day.

Crystalbrook Vincent

Couple enjpying the views of the Story Bridge, from the Crystalbrook Vincent rooftop pool | Best Brisbane accommodation

Crystalbrook Vincent, Brisbane

This cliffside boutique hotel delivers edgy art, eco luxury and that unbeatable Story Bridge backdrop.

Why we love it: It’s like staying inside an art gallery, with Vincent Fantauzzo’s portraits lining the walls. The rooftop bar and infinity pool are prime for sunset drinks, and the whole vibe is stylish without being snobby.

Good to know: Crystalbrook leads the charge on sustainable luxury – no single-use plastics here. You’re also steps from Brisbane’s best riverfront restaurants and bars at Howard Smith Wharves.

Spicers Balfour Hotel

Spicers Balfour Hotel, New Farm, Brisbane

This one’s got soul. Set in a classic Queenslander with just the right amount of polish, Spicers Balfour is all about charm, comfort, and character.

Why we love it: From wraparound verandahs and rooftop cocktails to the scent of frangipani trees out front, it’s boutique luxury with a heart. You’ll feel like a local the minute you check in.

Good to know: Home to the award-winning Balfour Kitchen, this spot’s perfect for staycations, city breaks or even business trips.

Emporium South Bank

Couple in their bathrobes on the balcony of their room, overlooking the Brisbane River, Emporium Hotel South Bank | Best Brisbane accommodation

Emporium Hotel, South Bank, Brisbane

If you like your luxury with a side of sparkle, Emporium Hotel delivers the goods, plus city and river views to match.

Why we love it: Freestanding marble bathtubs, pillow menus, and Brisbane’s most panoramic rooftop bar. You’re perfectly placed to explore the galleries, Riverstage, and South Bank Parklands, but you might just stay in to taste rare wines in the reserve bar or work your way through plates of pasta at Firma.

Good to know: This one’s award-winning for a reason. There’s a gym, spa, 24-hour concierge. And did we mention the view from The Terrace rooftop at sunset?

Beetson Hotel

City buzz, stadium vibes, and boutique comfort. The Beetson has the best seat in the house.

Why we love it: Whether you’re in town for footy, festivals or foodie adventures, Beetson’s luxe rooms, leafy balconies and onsite dining bring big boutique energy with a local edge.

Good to know: Smack-bang on buzzing Caxton Street, you're just steps from Suncorp Stadium and a quick stroll to the CBD. With onsite parking, smart tech, and a restaurant dishing up modern Australian flavours, it's a go-to for easy city stays.

The Inchcolm

Lady enjoying a drink at the bar in The Inchcolm

The Inchcolm, Spring Hill, Brisbane

Equal parts vintage glamour and offbeat cool, The Inchcolm is where Gatsby would’ve stayed if he were in town.

Why we love it: Set in a 1920s Georgian building with serious character, this hotel leans into its past with luxe finishes, moody lighting, and a touch of theatrical flair. A martini at the bar is a must.

Good to know: It’s just above the CBD in Spring Hill, yet feels like a secret hideaway. For a next-level stay book the two-bedroom General MacArthur Suite. Yup, that MacArthur. The five-star US Army Chief of Staff was treated here while stationed in Brisbane during World War II, back when the hotel was a hospital.

Hotel X

Aerial view of the rooftop pool at Hotel X with city skyline in backdrop

Hotel X, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane

Fortitude Valley’s flashiest stay doesn’t do boring. Hotel X is a five-star fashion statement in black, white and bold.

Why we love it: The rooftop pool is where the party’s at, with skyline views and cocktails flowing from Iris rooftop bar. Downstairs, French bistro Bisou Bisou will woo you with steak frites and champagne.

Good to know: Rooms come with GHD hair tools, designer mini-bars and serious sass. And you’re right in the middle of The Valley, so the nightlife comes to you.

The Star Grand

Luxury meets entertainment at The Star Brisbane, a brand-new five-star stay in the city’s buzziest new precinct, Queen’s Wharf.

Why we love it: You’ve got world-class dining, rooftop bars, luxe rooms and direct access to a high-end casino and lifestyle hub. It’s sleek, shiny and seriously exciting.

Good to know: The Star Grand is Brisbane’s new ‘it’ hotel, located smack-bang between Queen Street Mall and the Brisbane River.

 Miss Midgley’s

Woman lounging by the pool at historic pink-hued guesthouse Miss Midgleys

Miss Midgley's, New Farm, Brisbane.

Five luxury apartments. One historic girls’ school. All the charm in the world.

Why we love it: Each apartment at Miss Midgley’s is lovingly restored and filled with personality. Think pink doors, terrazzo tiles and vintage flair. It’s pet-friendly, eco-conscious and the Principal’s Office apartment offers private access to heated magnesium outdoor pool - perfect for afternoon siestas before hitting the town.

Good to know: Ideal for longer stays or group getaways (you can even book the entire property!) with kitchens, laundry and space to stretch out. Plus, you’re minutes from New Farm Park and the best of James St.

Rydges South Bank

Couple order drinks from the bar of a modern hotel

Rydges South Bank, Brisbane

Stay in the middle of the action with arts, eats and epic views right at your doorstep.

Why we love it: Rydges South Bank nails that sweet spot between business and pleasure. You're seconds from South Bank Parklands, next door to QPAC, and a quick river stroll from the CBD. And their rooftop pool bar, Soleil, brings big energy (and DJs).

Good to know: Award-winning Bacchus restaurant is perfect for date night, and the Gabba isn't far away. It’s one of the best-located stays in town for events, gallery hopping or just lounging poolside in the sun.
