In a world where more and more people are becoming their own boss or able to work remotely, there’s a significant need for us to have spaces to work in, besides our lounge or hotel rooms.

The Gold Coast, renowned for its beautiful beaches, breathtaking hinterlands and buzzing nightlife, has inspiring co-working spaces popping up around the region. These locations are allowing anyone from freelancers, digital nomads, start-ups, content creators and small-business owners to separate their home from their office, and collaborate with other like-minded go-getters while they soak up the famous atmosphere of the Coast.

Here are the coolest co-working spaces the Gold Coast has to offer.

On the other side of the Gold Coast, in Southport, you’ll find a unique co-working space housed in the city’s original, almost 100-year-old ambulance station. CoSpace is all about community and providing their members with an environment to network, promote, learn and grow.

Established in 2012, CoSpaces features three shared workspaces with more than 100 desks, 10 private offices, meeting rooms and event spaces. All of which can be hired for an hour, day, week or month. When you get peckish, head over to the onsite cafe and rooftop bar for a bite to eat. If you want to bring your own lunch, you can—there’s a  full kitchen available for all your meal prep needs.

CoSpace is perched in a prime location for ditching the car and choosing eco-friendly travel. There’s a G:link station just metres from the building, and down the road is the Hopo Ferry and cycling tracks accessible via the beautiful Broadwater Parklands. One of the great co-working spaces on the Gold Coast.

If you want a private location to host an appointment, coaching session or consultation, the meeting rooms and boardrooms will do just the trick.

To secure a spot at The Productive GC, book a desk starting from just $15 a day. This package includes speedy internet, printing, free parking, and your choice of caffeine fix. A monthly pass will cost you $450.

Note: If you want to enhance your businesses’ social media presence or website, you can shoot stunning photographs here for just $50 an hour—using the furniture and decor as you wish.

Located in Varsity Lakes, this co-working space is open 24 hours a day. So if you wake up in the middle of the night with a world-shaking idea, then you can head to your desk and get creating.

Wotso Workspace is a bustling hub of entrepreneurs and established businesses that run regular networking events and social activities, so it’s not all work and no play. Work zone options include hotdesking, daily or permanent desking, and a serviced office on a month-to-month membership. A daily drop in costs $50 per day, a hot desk $275 a month, and a permanent desk $440 a month.
