Brisbane's Airtrain

Multiple Locations

Brisbane's Airtrain is the sole rail service connecting Brisbane Airport to Brisbane city, suburbs and the Gold Coast. More than 19 million passenger trips have been made since its launch in 2001.

A "Kids Travel Free" policy allows children aged up to and including 14 years of age to travel free between the Airport and Brisbane city stations when accompanied by a paying adult.

A premium Train and Transfer Door to Door service provides transfers for customers travelling between Brisbane Airport and the Gold Coast. This service includes the train and a chauffeured vehicle transfer between the train station and the customer's Gold Coast accommodation.

E-tickets are available for purchase to and from every station in South East Queensland and discounts of up to 15 per cent are available for pre-booked online tickets. Web group fares* attract substantial discounts and start as low as AUD28 for two people travelling together between the Airport and city one-way.

Airtrain to Brisbane City and Suburbs

Brisbane Airport to the City, Airtrain is the fast and economical way to travel. Around 20 minutes on the train and you'll travel directly from Brisbane Airport to the heart of Brisbane’s Central Business District - Central station.

Your City ticket is valid for travel to and from all stations between the Airport and South Brisbane including: Bowen Hills, Fortitude Valley, Central Station and Roma Street Station.

Airtrain is your fast and reliable airport transfer option. Fully integrated into the TransLink network, catching Airtrain means you can easily access other Brisbane trains to or from the suburbs.

The Airtrain runs express and stops at all Gold Coast train stations; Coomera, Helensvale, Nerang, Robina and Varsity Lakes.

The Train and Transfer service is a door to door service, including a train and chauffeured vehicle from the Brisbane Airport to a Gold Coast accommodation, private address and return. All luggage requirements are catered for at no extra cost.

This Airtrain product allows for easy transfer between Airport and Gold Coast, with chauffeur to hotel or private accommodation.

The ticket price also includes unlimited bus travel on the Surfside bus line, plus unlimited theme park transfers with Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle.

SmartPass can be purchased in a 3,5,7 or 10 day pass.

Hook Island

The second largest island in the Cumberland group, it is 58 square kilometres in size and includes sheltered, picturesque bays, deep fjord-like inlets, ideal sailing and kayaking conditions, multiple moorings and safe anchorages, pristine fringing reefs, secluded beach campsites and the opportunity to see abundant wildlife including sea eagles, kites and ospreys, turtles, reef fish, dolphins, manta rays and humpback whales frolicking in Whitsunday Passage (between June to September).

Nara Inlet

Nestled in the south east end of the Whitsundays’ Hook Island is Nara Inlet, a secluded bay with tranquil waters that reflect the dense forestry that covers the island’s steep hills. The clear water acts as a window to the fringing reef and is known for its sheltered anchorage and easy access to the island.

Pinnacles, The

Arguably the best dive site in the Whitsundays, with hard corals comparing favourably to those seen on the outer Great Barrier Reef. The best dive is off the western beach, adjacent to the Woodpile and swim east at a depth of seven to 15 metres.

Long Island

With 13 kilometres of extensive walking tracks, stunning lookouts, protected bays and beautiful secluded beaches, Long Island is well worth a visit. Much of the island is national park and you can enjoy bush walks, exploring the fringing coral reef, snorkelling off the beaches or relaxing under the coconut palms.

Daydream Island

Langford Island

Langford Island, near Hayman Island in the northern Whitsundays is a popular spot with sailors, divers and snorkellers. Many of the bareboats and crewed sailing boats will anchor near Langford Island. Langford Island is relatively small, but features a long sand spit that all but disappears at high tide.

Hamilton Island

Butterfly Bay - Hook Island

A popular bareboat anchorage, Butterfly Bay is situated on the northern side of Hook Island. There are limited public moorings and snorkelling can be enjoyed along the bay edge or just off the beach. Offering coral outcrops with shallow walls, the bay is populated by many small, colourful reef fish species.
