Mr Day Tours is a local, family owned tour company dedicated to providing visitors to Brisbane and South East Queensland with tours that showcase the best the region has to offer. Their aim is to ensure you experience their beautiful city, golden beaches, lush rainforests, unique animals, relaxed lifestyle, sunny days, beautiful parklands and gardens, and leave with happy, long-lasting memories of your stay in their special part of the world.

Your driver and guide is Val, a Brisbane local with an extensive knowledge of the region's history and attractions. Val is also the owner and operator of Mr Day Tours, and is the principle driver. Val can advise you on local attractions, restaurants, landmarks, history, and any other information you need.

They offer seven half day tours and three full day tours. Itineraries are flexible and can be changed to suit your interests. Full and half day tours include Brisbane city, Moreton Bay suburbs, Mountain Rainforest, Gold Coast / Surfers Paradise, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Botanic Gardens, Brisbane and its hinterland, Tamborine Mountain and more. They can also tailor a special tour to your requirements.

All tours include free city hotel pick up and return.

Our Tours

Moreton Bay Breezes (Tour 2) - Half Day

How about a few relaxing hours along the shores of Moreton Bay? See some of Brisbane's most desirable suburbs. Drive through breezy bayside villages while admiring the views across Moreton Bay to the islands. Relax with morning / afternoon tea overlooking the beach and the bay. View or buy Australian seafood at the seafood markets. The fresh prawns have been cooked and are ready to eat.

This tour passes through the tree-lined hills of Ascot and Hamilton where you will see beautiful heritage Queenslander and colonial homes and take in a lovely view of the river and the city and surrounding suburbs. Continue on to the bayside suburbs of Sandgate and Shorncliffe with views across the bay to Moreton Island and the port of Brisbane. Cross over to Redcliffe Peninsula to see the site of the first white settlement in Queensland, walk along Redcliffe's bayside beaches, and enjoy a tea or coffee with some tasty cookies in one of Redcliffe's lovely beachside picnic areas.

Then spend some time at the seafood markets where you can view or buy fresh cooked prawns, crabs, Moreton Bay bugs, oysters or fish packed in ice for your return to the city.

Brisbane City Sights (Tour 1) - Half Day

This tour will show you beautiful Brisbane city and its sights including the city centre, Roma Street Parklands, Mount Cootha Lookout, Suncorp Stadium, the Story Bridge, South Bank Parklands, The Gabba Cricket Ground, old cathedrals, heritage buildings, Botanic Gardens, Parliament House and more. In a few short hours, you will see and experience this beautiful city and lifestyle and learn about Brisbane's attractions and colonial past.

The tour passes through inner city suburbs with beautiful century old timber homes and continues to Mount Cootha Lookout where, on a clear day, you can see Moreton Bay, Brisbane city and its surrounding suburbs.

Brisbane and the Aussie Bush (Tour 6) - Full Day

As Mr Day Tours special guests, experience Brisbane's closest National Park. Enjoy the countryside and the scenic mountain drive with panoramic views east to Moreton Bay and west to the Great Dividing Range. Feel the beauty of the rainforest in the 35,000 hectare D'Aguilar National Park. See some of Brisbane's unique native wildlife including the platypus, tiger quoll, lungfish, and wallabies at the Walkabout Creek Wildlife Centre. Visit Queensland's sub tropical Botanic Gardens at Toowong and also Australia's largest koala sanctuary - Lone Pine. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Botanic Gardens and Lookout (Tour 5) - Half Day

This tour takes you on a most relaxing morning/afternoon drive to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, located on the banks of the upper Brisbane River in a beautiful parkland setting. It is Australia's largest koala sanctuary with over 120 koalas and other native wildlife including birds, kangaroos, dingoes, wombats, wallabies, Tasmanian devils, snakes, emus and the platypus.

The tour takes you through inner city suburbs with beautiful century old timber homes. You also visit Mount Cootha Lookout with its fabulous views of Brisbane and its surrounding suburbs.

The tour also includes a drive or walk through Queensland's premier sub-tropical (world class) 130 acre Mount Cootha Botanic Gardens.

Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast (Tour 4) - Half Day or Full Day

If you would like to visit the Gold Coast beaches then choose the Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise morning or afternoon drive. Surfers Paradise is the heart of the Gold Coast and with its white sandy beaches, is the most popular beach holiday location in Australia. The fully patrolled beach is a short step away from cafes and restaurants offering delicious food and specialty clothes and gift shops. You will have some time to swim, shop, or walk along the beach at Surfers Paradise before continuing south to beautiful Burleigh Heads, a popular swimming and surfing beach with great views from the headland.

This tour is also available as a full day tour, which gives you more free time and allows you to see the southern part of the Gold Coast including beautiful Coolangatta and Currumbin.

Tamborine Mountain (Tour 7) - Half Day or Full Day

This tour takes you to Tamborine Mountain, a one hour drive from Brisbane, where you can choose to spend your time walking through rainforest, visiting local wineries, lookouts, the Skywalk, the Glow Worm Caves, cheese tasting, or experiencing the famous Gallery Walk with its 70 art, craft and gift shops.

The standard half day tour includes a one kilometre rainforest walk, two fabulous lookouts, cheese tasting, wine tasting at one of the premium wineries, and some time at the Gallery Walk.

The standard full day tour includes the activities in the half day tour plus your choice of another two wineries, a boutique brewery, a distillery, or more time in the Gallery Walk. The Glow Worm Caves and Skywalk are optional extras.

Scenic Mountain Rainforest (Tour 3) - Half Day

Take a break from the city and breathe fresh mountain air on the mountain rainforest drive through the 35,000 hectare D'Aguilar National Park. Get a close up look at some of the local fauna at the wildlife centre, marvel at the views from the lookouts, take a bushwalk under huge rainforest trees, and relax with morning / afternoon tea overlooking the rainforest.

The first stop is Walkabout Creek Wildlife Centre where you will see local birds, freshwater fish, turtles, reptiles, kangaroos, wallabies, brush turkeys and perhaps the shy platypus, tiger quoll and wombat. The tour continues up the range and stops at lookouts with panoramic views east to Moreton Bay and west to the Great Dividing Range. Passing through quaint mountain villages, the lovely Maiala rainforest at Mount Glorious is next at 680 metres above sea level. Here in the cool mountain air, take a bushwalk under huge trees, strangler figs, palms and ferns while listening to the delightful birdsong of the Australian rainforest. After the walk, it's time to sit back and relax in the rainforest surroundings while your guide prepares a morning / afternoon tea before heading back to the city via the pretty Samford Valley.
